The Clovea cruel sport…

Three Iapons were executed, vit., 2 men, and one woman. The cause was this; The woman (none of the honestest) her husband being travelled from home, she appointed these two theire severall howers … … … The latter man not knowing of the former, and thinking the time to longe, comming in before the hower appointede, founde the first man in the place where hee intended to haue bene, wherewith hee whipt out his Cattan and wounded both of them verie sorelie, as having verie neere hewen the Chyne of the mans back in two. But as well as hee might hee cleered him self of the woman, and recovering his Cattan, wounded the other. The streete takinge notice of the Fray, forthwith seased vppon them, ledd them a side, and acquainted king Foyne therewith, and sent to knowe his pleasure (for accordinge to his will the partie is executed) whoe presentlie gaue order that they should cutt of theire heades, which donne, every mann that listed (as verie many did) came to trie the sharpenesse of theire Cattans vppon the corpes, soe that before they left of, they had hewen them all three into peeces, as smale as a mans hand, and yet notwithstandinge did not then give over, but placinge the peeces one vppon another, would trie howe manie of them they could strike throughe at a blowe, And the peeces are left for the Fowles to devowre.
