PERFORMING ARTS: UK-Japan Music Society’s second ‘Tohoku Earthquake & Tsunami Memorial Concert’

10 March 2013 @ 5:30 pm - 6:40 pm

UK-Japan Music Society presents the second Tohoku Earthquake & Tsunami Memorial Concert, featuring Faure’s Requiem with members of UK-Japan Choir and young professional musicians from Japan and UK, in remembrance of those who died and are suffering. There will also be organ, piano and vocal solos of music by Mendelssohn, Kentaro Sato and others. The concert is directed by Jonathan Gregory.

UK-Japan Music Society has been part of UK-Japan relations since its foundation 21 years ago, contributing to all its milestone years and significant events. The Tohoku disaster is very much part of UK-Japan relations, which strengthened the relationship between Japan & UK with unprecedented support from UK when Japan needed it most, thus relevant to Japan400.

There is free admission with a retiring collection – all proceeds to be donated to a Tohoku Relief Project
