Okeanos were formed in 2001 as a musical response to the high profile touring exhibition Textural Space part of the UK-wide festival Japan 2001, Okeanos are known for its unusual but fascinating mix of Western and Japanese instruments. The ensemble’s primary focus is to reach out to new audiences, create opportunities for young composers, and initiate pioneering performance events, often collaborating with other art forms.
