Joss Graham presents new works by artist and textile designer, Nigel Atkinson. A new series of panels and hanging fabrics that explore the effect of light on intricate hand embroidered and hand woven fabrics, with makers from India and Japan.
This exhibition introduces the first pieces produced in collaboration with Rekiseisha, a historical maker of metal leaf surfaces based in Hiroshima. Metal leaf is applied with great sensitivity to the 3d relief surfaces of Atkinson’s textiles.
This is the premier of a collaboration between Nigel Atkinson Studio, London and Rekiseisha traditional metal leaf company from Hiroshima, since 1905.
