To coincide with our temporary exhibition ‘Treasures from Hirado’, we are having a family friendly Japanese Culture Day in order to find out about the land of the rising sun. There will be special additions to all the galleries in the museum, as well as demonstrations throughout the day, children’s treasure trails, and an opportunity to try your hand at an amazing Japanese craft.
The day is intended to appeal to local family groups who may have little knowledge of, or contact with, Japanese culture. We hope that it will encourage them to interact with both the temporary exhibition and our permanent Japanese collection in order to
raise interest and awareness in Japanese history and culture.
26th August 2013, 12 – 4pm. Workshops at 12.30, 1.30, 2.30.
Free entry, Workshops bookable on the day: £4.50 craft workshop, £1.50 Origami trail
